New Category – In Memoriam
Writing is how I deal with loss and questions. I don’t know why, but when I hear of loss, my first thing to do is write haiku; perhaps it is me attempting to emblazon my feelings into a notebook at that moment in time and never let them slip away or be corrupted. Now, I’ve shared these haikus before but didn’t call them out as being for a specific person or the passing of that person. Moving forward, and with heavy heart, I have created a new category: In Memoriam to better help me tag and organize these memories. I have been contemplating this for a couple of years and finally decided that I would be implementing the new category due to losses around me recently. I don’t want to use it much and I may not use it at all (these feelings tend to be raw and I am not sure I do want to share them).
Read MoreNew Category Alert: It’s Just Business
I’ve created a new category for the website: It’s Just Business. As an Italian American, I find this humorous though it is rooted in the mythos of the Mafioso – who have killed over money many times. I think legitimate business also kill people, just not with a gun, and through legal means. Therefore, I chose this as the title of the category for a specific reason.
In this category, I will use my master’s in business administration (MBA) to analyze business and our surrounding world. These reviews will be coupled with my bachelor of science in philosophy and sociology. My goal here is not to “stir the pot” but provide an objective (which is not even possible because we all have biases based on our background (there’s my philosophy and sociology degree)) review of what is happening around us through the lens of business. These will be longer posts, so the [Read More] button at the bottom of a post will actually be useful, I will call out when to use the button. I hope you enjoy these posts, and that they help you analyze what is happening around us in a different way.
Read MoreWebsite Down for 24 Hours
Sorry about the issues with the website over the last 24 hours. I was working, in the production environment, and pushed some changes that broke a connection to the database. I know that making changes in a production environment isn’t a good idea, and I apologize if it caused anyone an inconvenience. We are back up and everything is running properly right now.
Read MoreWebsite Updates – Manuscript Section
In between working on the newest manuscript, Bohr’s Bathos, I have been writing a decent amount of flash fiction writing. My time for working on the website has been diminished as I focus on my primary goal which is writing fiction. However, I realized the website needed a little bit of focus so I took the afternoon to abstain from writing fiction and update the manuscript section. It was outdated and missing the following manuscripts: BlackBox Enterprises, Ashley Pepin’s Mistake, and Bohr’s Bathos. While I am still working on Bohr’s Bathos, the entire plot and background has been outlined. So, enjoy the new blurbs and format located in the manuscript section. Soon I will have additional short stories added to the appropriate sections! I’m just waiting to hear back from some literary magazines.
Read MoreBack – We Are
I am exhausted so this will be short. We are officially back online. The short story section has been completely remodeled and has a whole new section: Semi-New Short Stories. Inside of this section are 12 unreleased short stories for your reading pleasure. I will be doing features and write ups about each new piece over the next two weeks. So expect a couple of emails. I also have to find a blender to take a very specific picture for one of the short stories – Solutions – so you will notice there is a weird gap in the page. I apologize but I wanted to get this all up before I begin actually writing the sixth manuscript. Also, I need to update the manuscript page. I did delete links to further information on manuscripts as I don’t have much to add there. Either way, enjoy some new pieces and look for the featured emails that will be coming out soon!
Sincerely,
Theodore J Maestranzi
